Interesting Observations

Today I became very aware of how people walk. In my opinion, walking, much like breathing, should be completely involuntary. You don't have to think much about it, you just do it. On my walk to lunch today (the first time in months that I actually left the office to eat lunch - except for the many days I wasn't in the office to begin with), it became apparent that many people walk in such a manner as to seem in distress. They seem to have to work so hard at it. These people seem to be so inefficient at walking it was ridiculous. The over-exaggeration of the shift of weight from one side to the other in between steps was insane. Boys, girls, young, and old, thin and not-so-thin. No one could simply walk effortlessly. Is it the weather? I thought it might be the wind, but once inside, the observation was consistent. This puzzles me.
